victorias!

ok, so here's the deal. i've been coming to victoria's for about two years now, and they never disappoint. if you like mike's city diner, you're sure to love the breakfast fare here. up until recently, victoria's was owned by the folks who run mike's. when it was sold, they underwent a makeover and added some menu options, but overall the food is very similar.
XXL portions and awesome service keep me coming back. their breakfast menu options run the gamut (look it up!), from breakfast regulars (i usually stuff my face with their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches*, or omelettes**) to the more unusual (breakfast burger and eggplant fries). the french toast is fantastic. lots of butter! i don't like the spice they use on the homefries, but if its after eleven, they let you sub french fries, which are crusty and superb.
*BEC is a huge 2-egg monster, more than enough for a hungry human
**omelettes are fluffy, hot, and stuffed to the brim with whatever you like

plus, they don't mind if you hang around with a book, sucking up the free refills, which is magnificent!

price is about mid range (two people, about 12-15 bucks?), not greasy spoon cheap, but won't break the proverbial bank.

i've had only one bad experience here with a waitress with a nasty attitude, but i'll write that off as a fluke.

oh snap, and they're open 24 hours thursday through sunday! for those that don't wanna squeeze into south street diner! only downside is they cut the menu in half, and jack up the prices.

love, trav

pros: coffee coffee coffee, delicious food, huge portions, friendship

cons: not super cheap, i don't like the homefries but heather does, higher priced 24 hour menu
