Instead of a 22 ounce mug of beer, for brunch I got the Omelet with American cheese, wheat toast, and home fries. This meal would have been fantastic had it been made with fresh eggs or served warm. But despite the use of "Egg-beaters", I have to say that the food was palatable. My only complaints are that my meal was served at room temperature and cooked to give anyone heartburn for a week. The omelet wasn't anything to write home about, but if The Pour House could serve their home fries warm, I'd have to rate them the best in Boston. Travis (my co-blogger & pictured below with his meal), got The French Toast Supreme, which he gave a similar review - the French toast was delicious but not even warm enough to melt his butter. But Jeff (also a breakfast enthusiast), was served Pancakes (with over-easy eggs) which he claims were warm, buttery, and delicious. Apparently next time I should get the pancakes.
I'm not entirely impressed with the food, but the service was excellent. The waitress came by every 5 minutes to ask if we were ready to order, if we needed to freshen up our mug of coffee, or if we needed more food.
Overall, the waitstaff is pleasing and I left with my stomach satisfied. I would be wiling to come back to The Pour House (907 Boylston Street, opened daily from 8AM-2AM), not only for the PBR, but for another breakfast as well. When the check came, it was about $23.00 for 3 of us to share a breakfast together. For the low price and the friendly atmosphere, this is definitely a great place to stop by for brunch.
See you next b-fast journey,
Heather
Pros: inexpensive, good pancakes, great service, great atmosphere
Cons: cold food, sub-par omelet, breakfast ends at 10:30 AM on weekdays
Overall on a scale of 1-5: 3.5

wouldn't $23 for 3 being a "low price" make it a 5 (good, as the service) not a 1?
good call, anonymous poster! consider it fixed! we're still gettin the hang of this breakfast rating thing.. we're used to just enjoying breakfast, not rating it.
